Dolly Parton is ‘very excited’ about Beyoncé possibly covering ‘Jolene’ for ‘Renaissance Act II’
Dolly Parton has indicated that Beyoncé’s next album, RENAISSANCE ACT II, may include a rendition of one of her classic songs. Beyoncé is scheduled to release RENAISSANCE ACT II on March 29.
Parton told Knox News how excited she was by Beyoncé’s foray into country music. The legendary country singer said, “Well, I think she has!” in response to rumors that the Houston native had either worked with Parton or covered one of her songs for the next album. I believe that she has recorded the song “Jolene,” and I’m thrilled that it will likely be included on her next country album. I cherish her! She is a stunning young woman with amazing vocals.
Parton has high expectations, despite the fact that’s still unclear whether Beyoncé would use “Jolene” as a cover, sample, or even use it at all. “Over the years, we’ve kind of sent messages back and forth,” she said. “She and her mother were like fans, and I always thought she was great, and I was touched that they were fans.”
The titan of country music from Tennessee once declared her love for Beyoncé after the release of “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” which peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs list. The legendary musician accomplished a first for a Black woman.
