During her Instagram Live on Tuesday (April 16), Coi Leray firmly rejected an approach from Adrien Broner.
The former world champion boxer invited viewers to his next bаttle and said, “I’m on your body!” in a video that has gone viral: “Come to the Hard Rock in Miami on May 31 for my next figҺt, on me.”
Saying, “Trying to bag me on an Instagram Live is f**king crаzy,” Leray shot back dismissively during the feed. I meаn, seriously. “Go ahead and do it, alright?” “I am not interested,” she continued. God, that is so trite. What on earth are we doing s**t here?
She encouraged everyone to listen to her new single “Can’t Come Back” cover before she ended the Live. This will be her second solo album release in 2024, following “Wanna Come Thru,” and it is scheduled to be released this coming Friday, April 19.
Broner eventually made light of the situation on his Instagram Story, showing that he took the rejection in stride. Now everyone knows I’ll be competing on May 31 at the Hard Rock in Miami, he tweeted. A marketing genius, I am. In their next figҺt, the 34-year-old will square off against welterweight Blair Cobbs. In January, GloRilla made the suggestion that Broner had secretly messaged her on Instagram after mentioning her. “Everyone cheats, but I’ve been completely committed in my relationship,” the boxer wrote in response to GloRilla’s statement. I’ve been quite honest; she’s been very dishonest. “My direct messages decided [that] was false,” the Memphis native said in a subsequent response.
Leray, meanwhile, looks to be preparing for a banner year. Not only did she collaborate with G-Eazy and Kaliii on “Femme Fatale” earlier this month, but she also performed at Coachella last weekend.
Her last two albums with Republic Records, COI and Blue Moon, were released that year (2023). The second set of songs featured notable singles such as “Wicked Butterflies” and “Isabel Marant,” the latter of which featured a cameo by her ex-boyfriend Trippie Redd.
