Jay Ajayi, a former Super Bowl winner, traded his athletic shoes for a microphone, eager to team up with Travis Scott on his debut project

With the release of his debut rap single this week, former Suρer Bowl winner Jay Ajayi has officially entered the music industry. He is hopeful that the positive reception of the songs will pave the way for a future collaboration with Travis Scott.

This former Philadelphia Eagles player began rapping under the stage nаme “Finesse” after retiring from the NFL in 2022, and Tuesday saw the release of his debut track, “PEAK.”He plans to incorporate “some trap, south side beats, heavy 808s, and just a lot of vibes” into his music, the ex-running back assures TMZ Sports, adding that he is fully committed to his new job.

“I like to take the listener on a journey when they listen to the music,” stated Finesse. “It’s an experience.”

The London native—who played six seasons in the NFL and was named to one Pro Bowl—says he hopes it grows big enough so he can collaborate with Scott, with whom he shares a Texas connection. In addition, he mentioned that he would be open to future collaborations with Mike Dean, a songwriter and producer who has worked with numerous famous artists, including Scott, Jay Z, Kanye West, Beyonce, The Weeknd, and many more.

Instead of focusing on winning a Grammy, Ajayi tells us he just wants to connect with his fans on a deeper level.

“The biggest validation of the music is people messin’ with the music, people listening to the music, people consuming the music,” stated Finesse.

“For me … to sell a show out and have the whole stadium singing the music or jumpin’, that kinda feeling I think shows what you’re doing is connecting.”
