Toosii misinterprets Shaquille O’Neal’s DM ‘Let me have that baby’, sparking social media controversy

Toosii accused Shaquille O’Neal of sending Samaria Davis an inappropriate DM on Thursday (May 9). However, his interpretation of the comment made by the former basketball player was incorrect.

The rapper from North Carolina took to Twitter to share a story about a woman who allegedly asked for his son by direct message. Strange old nut. An image from November 2022 was attached to the post by him. This is how elderly n**gas flirt or what? That’s what the caption said.

My Mixtapez released a series of images on Thursday morning that brought attention to the incident. The photos featured the NBA great on a yacht with a young lady, whose age was inferred to be 21 by the social media account. Nevertheless, the photographs are from 2019, as stated in the Community Notes tab, and her age was never established in the first claims.

In a subsequent Instagram Stories video, Toosii elaborated on his initial response. According to the “Favorite Song” singer, he misread the message’s context: So, it seems like he was trying to tell me that he wаnted my girlfriend. So, I guess I should have thought twice before posting it since, you know, “N**gas, I’m going to direct message your girl.”

“I expected him to be bringing up my son,” he continued. ‘Baby.’ I just saw it. All I [saw] was that. I was like, “Can I have that baby?” once I saw it. “No comma;” People on social media generally felt that punctuation would have been helpful throughout the conversation.

“Wow, grammar is totally important, but I seriously doubt he wаnted the baby,” someone another said. “‘Can I have that baby?’ sounds weird no matter how you put it,” another person joked.

Featuring Khalid, Wallo267, 21 Sаvаge, and Future, NAUJOUR was published by Toosii in 2023. Later that year, the artist behind “Poetic Pаin” released two singles, “Suffice” and “IDGAF,” to follow the full-length record.
