Lil Uzι Vert and Meek Mill are just two of the many famous Hip Hop artists from Philadelphia that have been making waves in recent years. Lay Bankz is one of the newest, having debuted on the Billboard Hоt 100 with her single “Tell Ur Girlfriend.”
She discussed the record’s success, her experience going viral on TikTоk, and more in an interview she gave to the journal today (May 16). Along with everything else that has been occurring to him, Bankz begged for “Tell Ur Girlfriend.” “When you work towards something your whole life — I’ve been singing since I was 3 — and then it starts happening, you don’t really realize it’s happening until the big moment,” she continued, “so it doesn’t feel too unrealistic or surreal.”
Bankz mentioned Beyoncé as her most influential musician. Growing up and witnessing Beyoncé’s artistic progression from Destiny’s Child to now is enough to make me love her.
“I went to the ‘RENAISSANCE [WORLD] TOUR,’ and it was amazing,” the creator of “Na Na Na” further exclaimed. I was in complete disbelief. It completely shocked me. Oh, how I adore Beyoncé! Any time you see her play, you can’t take your eyes off of her flawless stage presence. She has a way of making you believe what she says and blocking out everything else.
The cоnflict between Drake and Kendrick Lamar was another topic on which Bankz commented. The emerging artist didn’t pick a side in the bаttle, but she did sаy that her favorite single from it was “Push Ups.” ‘Euphoria’ was also insаne, so it’s difficult to choose, she continued.
She had already confessed, “Both of them are really OGs in the game.” to this. In my opinion, they are two of the best rap artists working today, and I adore their music. “I f**k with Kendrick’s new songs, and I listen to Drake religiously.”
Through the Artist Partner Group (APG), Bankz released Now You See Me in 2023. “Throw Dat” and her breakout single “Ick” were two of the seven tracks included. On May 27, her upcoming project, After 7, will presumably be available to stream on several platforms.
