Travis Scott donates to hundreds of Black college students walking through their graduation ceremonies … with seven-figure donations

With a seven-figure donation, Travis Scott is ensuring that hundreds of Black college students cross the graduation stage with their diplomas.

So that they don’t have to worry about any unforeseen financial difficulties, the rapper gave one million dollars in scholarships to one hundred students at HBCUs who are expected to graduate in the Class of 2022.

Each of the students who will shortly be graduating with a grade point average of 3.5 or above will receive a $10,000 award from the Waymon Webster award Fund, which Travis created earlier.Among the scholars… Nisha Encarnacion, a pharmacy major from the US Vιrgιn Islands who supported her mother and daughter while attending Florida A&M University; Chisom Okwor, a computer science major from Fisk University who aspires to aid in the transformation of developing nations in Africa; and Jordan Massey, a communications major from North Carolina Central University who took on a mountain of debt to get his degree.

Jordan Webster, who is both Travis’s sister and a recent Howard University graduate, is in charge of the scholarship fund.Contributions from Travis were distributed to graduating seniors at 38 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), such as: Prairie View A&M University, Grambling State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Morehouse College, Central State University, Jackson State University, Morehouse College, Texas Southern University, and Alabama A&M University.

This $1 million scholarship is a component of Travis’ Project HEAL, which was unveiled in March and has $5 million set aside, as we first reported.

One of Travis’ first public charitable endeavors after last November’s horrific Astroworld event, in which ten individuals lost their lives due to injuries incurred during Travis’ show, was Project HEAL.
