The video of Birdman showing him telling inmates that reading books won’t help them has gone viral
Birdman is facing criticism online due to his response to a group of prisoners who approached him, requesting that he assist them in obtaining books for a jail that he was touring. Worldstar recorded the incident and shared the footage. The video abruptly ends after Birdman says, “If you think reading books is gonna help– no disrespect to reading books,” in response to an inmate’s request for literature for the group to read. The location of the clip is not obvious.
Fans were not pleased with Birdman’s handling of the situation in the comments section. “Birdman wants to make sure no one knows how to read them contracts,” a participant said. Someone else said, “This guy went to jail and made things worse SMH.” The criticism leveled against the music mogul by others was more grave. A supporter said: “This just pisseԀ me off.. does he NOT know the power reading & literature holds?” A further comment said: “Disappointing that he just went in there to flex power and ain’t listening to real cries for help.”
Even before the jail video went viral, Birdman was in the news earlier this month for what seemed like a diss track by NBA YoungBoy titled “Tears of Wаr.” Lil Wayne cautioned the Baton Rouge artist not to put his faith in the co-founder of Cash Money Records, the rapper said. “Should have listened to Carter, I knew Stunna never loved me,” he rapped. Up to his recent incarceration, “Tears of Wаr” was YoungBoy’s final LP.
