Fans of Sexyy Red claim Tyla “robbed” Her Of Best New Artist Title at BET Awards

Those who back Sexyy Red are speaking out.Everyone knows that Sexyy Red has had a huge year. In addition to touring with Drake and collaborating on other high-profile projects, the rapper hailing from St. Louis has dropped her third mixtape, In Sexyy We Trust. It came loaded with hits, as one would expect. At yesterday night’s (June 30) BET Awards, many of her admirers assumed she would win easily.Among her many nominations were those for Best Female Artist, Best Collaboration, and Best New Artist. But it’s the latter that has her fans feeling ignored, and they’re speaking up. There are many who believe it was unfair that Tyla received the award instead of Sexyy.

Earlier today, Sexyy Red took to Instagram to share some entertaining footage and photographs from the awards presentation. The clips and photos show her stepping it up in the crowd, dancing, and more. Many of her admirers have chimed in to tell her she was “robbed” and provide words of support in the aftermath of the setback. At least one commenter thinks that Sexyy, rather than Tyla, should have won best new artist. Your hard work is appreciated, so don’t worry. According to someone else, you came out on top.

Sexyy has continued to release additional footage from the event, so it seems like she isn’t too upset about the whole situation. She just posted a video on her Instagram where she flings dollars around the carpet and writes a touching message for her supporters. “I do dis for da trenches da hood btches winnin,” she said. Last night, Tyla won Best New Artist at the BET Awards. What are your thoughts on this? Is Sexyy Red the rightful winner, in your opinion?
