Following his 2008 smаsh single “Can’t Believe It,” in which he memorably rhymed “mansion” with “Wiscansin,” T-Pаin has chosen Wisconsin as the site of his new music school. The announcement has brought delight to the state.
The “Buy U A Drank” singer confirmed his prior pledge to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel from 2023 to construct an educational institution in an interview with Billboard that was published on Thursday, May 2.
At the 6:11 point of the Billboard video, he discussed “Can’t Believe It,” saying, “I just really felt like I was Andre 3000 when I was recording that song.” “When I was recording that song, that was my spirit animal.”
Again, that ushered in the age of the notorious lyric about the “mansion in Wiscansin,” he went on to sаy. Ever since then, we’ve managed to seamlessly integrate that into all aspects. T-Pаin continued by gushing about Lil Wayne, calling their collaboration “awesome.”T-Pаin has reciprocated the love from Wisconsin.
On a stop of his Road to Wiscansin Tour in 2022, he was formally acknowledged by the Badger State.
Rather than performing a solo set, T-Pаin brought the Wiscansin Fest to his fans. Other musicians performing at the event were Juvenile, Yung Bleu, K Camp, O.T. Genasis, Lil Jon, and more.
A proclamation commemorating June 11 as “T-Pаin Day” was presented to Teddy Pаin by state legislator Kalan Haywood during his set, much to his surprise. The musician accepted the plaque with tears streaming down his face in videos that went viral online. He then got down on his knees to thank his fans for all the support.
The rapper-turned-singer was subsequently praised by the official Wiscansin Fest Instagram page, which featured a photo of him holding the proclamation during the performance.
“June 11th, to be celebrated annually throughout the state, has been proclaimed as ‘T-Pаin Day’ by the Mayor of Milwaukee, @cavalierformilwaukee,” read the caption. A proclamation from the state office was presented to @tpain by state representative @kalanhaywoodwi at #WiscansinFest, surprising him on stage.
“Wiscansin Fest” is officially recognized as an annual event by the state of Wisconsin in the proclamation. This extraordinary award is due to the entire state of Wisconsin and the @cityofmilwaukee.
