Snoop Dogg and his wife of more than 2 decades: ‘I have never loved someone so deeply’

As a pair and business associates, Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus get along well.
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer first got backing for his music career from his future wife, whom he met when they were both adolescents.
“I was present when he initiated everything,” Broadus said in an interview with W Magazine in 2021. We were admirers of his before he ever made his musical debut, including myself and our pals. Every time we listened to one of his songs, we would share our thoughts. Even when he gained popularity, I continued to assist them with offers and negotiations.
Speaking of partnerships, Snoop Dogg said that he declined one particular one—a partnership with OnlyFans—because he was certain his wife wouldn’t approve.
“They said something like, ‘Snoop, OnlyFans wants you to come on there.’” You may potentially make $100 million. In January 2024, Snoop Dogg said, “I’m like, I got a Black wife,” during an Instagram Live edition of Wake & Bake With Double S Express. “All you gotta do is pull that thang out.” She would never in a million years let me to go on there and pull that prick for no pay.”

When Snoop and Broadus were students attending Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California, they initially became friends. The pair went to prom and school dances together before to 1989 graduation.
In 1997, she wed Snoop Dogg.

The pair was married in Marina Del Rey, California’s The Ritz Carlton Hotel on June 14, 1997.
At musician Charlie Wilson’s property, the couple reaffirmed their vows in front of 200 friends and family members more than ten years later. The ceremony was a surprise given to Broadus by Snoop on January 12, 2008.
The artist revealed why their marriage has endured the test of time in a speech on Today in 2023.
He said to co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, “I think because we were both young and we were both willing to sacrifice for each other.” “She knew what my dreams and goals was, and at the same time, I knew what hers were.”
“To have a family and to be who we are… that was something we both wanted to achieve, and when we did, it was difficult, for sure, because there were so many things pulling you away from marriage and people getting divorced almost every day,” Snoop said.
“But when you truly love somebody, there ain’t nothing you can do to break that up and I feel like that was true love at first sight,” he said.
She is a proud mother and grandmother, together with Snoop Dogg.

Together, Snoop and Broadus are parents to three kids. On May 20, 1994, a boy called Cordé became the couple’s first child. On February 21, 1997, Cordell, their second son, became a part of the family. On June 22, 1999, two years thereafter, they welcomed a daughter, Cori.
“The most important thing in the world is my connection with my children. In 2015, Snoop said on Today that the connection is one of friendship. “It’s based on me being a father, a mentor and a friend.”
Their 6-year-old daughter Cori, who was diagnosed with lupus at age 6, disclosed on her Instagram Stories in January 2024 that she had experienced a “severe stroke,” but she didn’t provide any specifics at the time.
The late son Kai Love, who passed away on September 25, 2019, at the age of ten days, and Cordé’s children, boys Zion and Leo and daughter Elleven, are also grandparents to the couple.
Along with Phia Barragan, Cordell is married to Cordoba, Chateau, and Symphony Sol, their three daughters.
In Words + Music: From the Streets to the Suites, he said, “My grandkids are my everything because they all individually get a piece of my heart and they’re different.” “My grandpa was my best friend and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well and I was able to outlive the circumstances.”
Snoop went on, “I can look back now and instruct those that want to be at this level. Alternatively, provide them with a guide and assist them in avoiding some of the obstacles they encountered.”
She oversees him.
Broadus formally took up the role of her husband’s manager on June 9, 2021. According to PRNewswire, her new responsibilities included growing his commercial endeavors and managing his “partnership deals across the cannabis, spirits, gaming, music, brand partnerships, touring, licensing, and TV/film space.” She is also in charge of diGGital doGG, the media division of Snoop’s gaming and animation company.
In a news statement, Snoop said, “Shante has been guiding my career behind the scenes from day one.” “She has always served as my last line of defense when making choices, and without her, I wouldn’t be where I am now. We’ve been working together to establish the Snoop Dogg business, and I’m thankful that she is my official manager.”
